LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Eliya (Louie) Boji to the Michigan Education Trust Board of Directors.
The board was created to provide families with a flexible way to save for future education expenses through a range of investment options.
"Louie's extensive experience in management and finance will be a beneficial asset to the board," Snyder said.
Boji, of West Bloomfield, is the founder and managing member of the Boji Group. He has vast experience providing management and financial expertise to grocery and party stores and has developed two retail centers. He earned a law degree from the University of Baghdad, Iraq.
Boji will represent a person with knowledge, skills and experience in the academic, business or financial fields. He replaces Dr. Barbara Klocko. The appointment is for a three-year term expiring Dec. 21, 2013, and is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
