LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Lisa Darrow to the Michigan Board of Dentistry.
The board regulates the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene, and authorizes dental assistants.
"I am confident Lisa Darrow will help the board to ensure Michigan's citizens receive quality dental care," Snyder said.
Darrow, of East Grand Rapids, is president and owner of Darrow Dental Sales LLC. She previously served as an educational representative for Rowpar Pharmaceuticals and as a part-time clinical dental hygienist. Darrow is a member of the Michigan Dental Hygienists' Association, American Dental Hygienists' Association, Coalition of the Oral Care of the Aging and Michigan Oral Health Coalition. She earned an associate's degree in applied arts and science and dental hygiene from Grand Rapids Community College and a bachelor's degree in business from Davenport University.
Darrow will represent dental hygienists and will fill a vacancy created by Lynn Hornyak. She will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring June 30, 2012. The appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
