Snyder signs bills into law

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder has signed several bills into law.
House Bill 4240, sponsored by state Rep. Ken Goike, revises the state's Administrative Procedures Act to help ensure appropriate rule-making procedures for state departments. It is now Public Act 270 of 2011.
H.B. 4683, sponsored by state Rep. Paul Opsommer, extends the deadline to Dec. 31, 2016, when multiline telephone system service users must install necessary equipment and software to provide more specific location information of 911 calls. This change will ensure effected entities have sufficient time to comply with these provisions. It is now P.A. 271 of 2011.
H.B. 4820, sponsored by state Rep. Wayne Schmidt, streamlines the process for which mistakes or errors in an obsolete property rehabilitation exemption application are corrected. It is now P.A. 272 of 2011.
H.B. 4990, sponsored by state Rep. Jud Gilbert, excludes agricultural property from the calculation of a homestead's taxable value. It is now P.A. 273 of 2011.
