Snyder makes appointment to Michigan Women's Commission
January 31, 2012
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Deidre Lambert-Bounds of Southfield to the Michigan Women's Commission.
The 15-member board works to improve the quality of life for Michigan women, including providing support for female veterans, fighting human trafficking and assisting women business owners.
"Deidre's professional experience and background will be a valuable asset to promoting the achievements of all Michigan women," Snyder said.
Lambert-Bounds is the chief operating officer of Ignite Social Media as well as a managing partner of Brogan & Partners Convergence Marketing. She also serves as board chair for the Sphinx Organization, on the executive committee for the Detroit Regional Chamber and on the campaign steering committee for Orchard's Children Services.
"We are thrilled to have Deidre join our Michigan Women's Commission," said Susy Avery, executive director of the commission. "Her wisdom and hard work as a board member on numerous nonprofits demonstrates her commitment to Michigan women and our state."
Lambert-Bounds fills a vacancy for the remainder of a three-year term, expiring July 15, 2012. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
