July 10, 2012
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder recently reappointed Mark Babcock, of Holland; Dennis Rupert, of Hillsdale; and Frank Wiechert, of Detroit, to the Michigan Board of Boiler Rules.
"I thank the members for their willingness to continue to serve our state," Snyder said.
The 11-member board formulates definitions and rules for the safe construction, installation, inspection, and repair of boilers in the state.
Babcock is principal engineer for Consumers Energy, and is reappointed to represent owners and users of boilers operating at 1000 p.s.i.g. or more.
Rupert is president and owner of Culligan Water Conditioning, and is reappointed to represent antique steam boiler owners and operators.
Wiechert is business manager for Pipefitters Local 636, and is reappointed to represent organized labor in the state engaged in the design, erection, fabrication, installation, operation, repair, or inspection of boilers.
Members each serve a four-year term, and these appointees' terms expire June 30, 2016, pending the advice and consent of the state Senate.
