Monday, August 27, 2012

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Kenneth Lingenfelter, of Brighton, to the State Building Authority board of trustees.

The five-person board oversees the State Building Authority, which issues and sells bonds and notes to acquire equipment and construct facilities.

"Kenneth is an experienced and dedicated professional, and I am confident he will effectively serve on this board," said Snyder.

Lingenfelter is owner of The Lingenfelter Collection and Metropolitan Motor Sports, and CEO of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, a Brighton-based company which offers engine building and installation as well as development services. Previously, he owned Metropolitan Title Co., a business he began at age 23. Lingenfelter is former president of the Michigan Land Title Association and the National Title Alliance, and served on the board of governors for the American Land Title Association. He replaces Marty Mercer.

Lingenfelter will serve a four-year term that expires Aug. 21, 2016, and his appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
