LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Nick Khouri, of Plymouth, to the state's Investment Advisory Committee.

The committee reviews investments, goals and objectives of the state's various retirement funds. It may submit recommendations to the state treasurer, or direct the state treasurer to dispose of or enter into investments.

"Nick is an outstanding, experienced professional," said Snyder. "I am confident he will continue to do great work on behalf of the people of Michigan."

Khouri is vice president and treasurer of DTE Energy. He previously served as vice president and partner at Public Sector Consultants, as chief deputy treasurer for the Michigan Department of Treasury, as chief economist for the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency, and as an analyst for the U.S. Congressional Budget Office. Khouri serves as director of the Citizens Research Council and is chairman of the EEI Treasurer's Forum and Detroit's Local Initiatives Support Group. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, respectively.

Khouri will serve a three-year term that expires Dec. 15, 2015, and his appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
