Governor makes appointment to Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority
January 16, 2013
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Travis Jones, of Owosso, to the Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority.
Created in 2003, the seven-member board promotes economic growth on the local, county and state levels through the acquisition, assembly and disposal of public property, including tax reverted property.
"Travis brings years of great experience to the authority," said Snyder. "I am thankful for his willingness to serve in this role."
Jones is senior vice president and chief financial officer of East Lansing-based GreenStone Farm Credit Services. He previously served as an audit senior with Deloitte and Touche, and held various leadership positions during his 14-year tenure with Republic Bancorp Inc., now Citizens Republic Bancorp. Jones is a certified public accountant and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. He will represent the general public and replaces Scott Woosley, who will now represent the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
Jones will serve the remainder of a four-year term that expires May 31, 2016, and his appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
