Governor makes appointment to Snowmobile and Trails Advisory Council
January 30, 2013
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Nancy Krupiarz, of Haslett, to the Michigan Snowmobile and Trails Advisory Council.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the 11-member council advises the department director and governor on the creation, development, operation and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized trails in the state.
"Nancy is a great choice for this post," said Snyder. "I am confident her background and experience will assist her in effectively serving the people of the Great Lakes State on the council."
Krupiarz is executive director of the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance, a position she has held since 2005. She previously worked with the Michigan chapter of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and in the Michigan Legislature. Krupiarz holds a bachelor's degree in office management and psychology from Central Michigan University. She will represent non-motorized trail user members, and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of John Gonway.
Krupiarz will serve a four-year term that expires Jan. 17, 2014, and her appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
