Snyder makes appointment to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
April 11, 2013
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Margo Farber, of Grosse Pointe Park, to the Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Community Health, the 11-member board advises the department on issues affecting prescription drug coverage for its various health care programs.
"Margo brings outstanding, valuable experience to the committee and I am confident she will effectively serve the citizens of Michigan in this role," said Snyder.
Farber is director of the University of Michigan Health System's drug information service. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Wayne State University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and as a clinical assistant professor at Wayne State University's School of Medicine and the University of Michigan's College of Pharmacy. Farber is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Southeastern Michigan Society of Hospital Pharmacists and American Diabetes Association. She holds a bachelor's degree and a doctorate degree in pharmacy, both from the University of Michigan. Farber will represent pharmacists and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Jeffrey VanWormer.
Farber will serve the remainder of a two-year term that expires Oct. 1, 2013, and her appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
