Snyder makes appointment to Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Fred Lab, of Lake Odessa, to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund Commission.

The seven-member commission oversees the financing, design and construction of Michigan's Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

“I thank Fred for his willingness to serve on this important commission,” Snyder said.

Lab is the senior minister for Outreach Christian Church in Lake Odessa, a role held for nearly 12 years. He is a Michigan State Police chaplain and a member of the MSP Chaplain’s Executive Board. Lab holds a degree in ministry from Great Lakes Christian College. He will represent police chaplains with at least five years of experience and replaces Andrew Jackson, who resigned.

Lab will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring June 30, 2016, and his appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
