March 28, 2014
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today issued the following statement after U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers announced his retirement from Congress:
“Congressman Mike Rogers is a true public servant, and has dedicated his life to serving his country and the people of mid-Michigan. From serving in the U.S. Army, to fighting crime as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to the state Legislature where he was Senate Majority Floor Leader, to Washington, D.C., where he rose through the ranks to chair the prominent House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Rogers has always put the interests of others first.
“On behalf of all Michiganders, I thank the congressman for his lifetime of service and dedication to our state. Mike Rogers has been successful at every turn, and I wish him nothing but the best as he begins a new career.”
