LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Anna Marie Anzalone to the 39th Circuit Court in Lenawee County.
“Anna Marie is an established legal professional and I am confident she will serve the people of Lenawee well in this new position,” Snyder said.
Since 2003, Anzalone has run her own practice and serves as a public defender in Lenewee County. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Jackson Community College. She previously served as an associate attorney at the Law Office of Denis F. Jodis and as a street law instructor and mediation consultant at the Neighborhood Legal Services Child and Family Institute in Detroit. Anzalone has professional certification in divorce mediation training and has completed the criminal defense trial college. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Toledo and a law degree from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.
Anzalone fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Chief Judge Timothy P. Pickard. She must seek election in November 2016 to complete the current term, then must run for a six-year term in 2018.
