Governor Rick Snyder honors fallen military members on Memorial Day
May 26, 2014
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today issued the following statement in remembrance of all Michiganders lost in conflict:

"Today is Memorial Day. As we're enjoying time with family and friends, let's stop for a minute to remember those who have given their lives in defense of our country.
Since 2001, we've lost 224 Michiganders in the War on Terror, in addition to the thousands who died before in other conflicts. That's something we should never forget. We should always be grateful, and we always need to express our thanks not only to our fallen heroes, but to all their family members.
I wish all Michiganders a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and let's make sure we give thanks to those who made sacrifices on our behalf."
