LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Bronco McKart, of Monroe, to the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member commission oversees professional boxing and mixed martial arts events.
"Bronco has years of experience and I am confident he will be an asset to the board," said Snyder.
McKart is a retired professional boxer with over 20 years of experience in the boxing industry. He won the WBO Junior Middleweight World Champion and the IBA Junior Middleweight World Champion titles in 1992. He will represent people who have experience, knowledge, or background in boxing and will replace Joe Willie Byrd.
