Snyder makes appointment to the MEDC Executive Committee

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Scott Newman-Bale, of Traverse City, to the Michigan Economic Development Corp. Executive Committee.
The 20-member committee is charged with overall management and guidance of MEDC development projects and policy initiatives.
“Scott is a talented professional with a strong work ethic and I look forward to the contributions he will make supporting Michigan’s continued comeback, where MEDC plays an integral role,” Snyder said.
Newman-Bale is a founding partner of Short’s Brewing Co. Newman-Bale serves as treasurer of the Michigan Brewers Guild and is a member of the Brewers Association government affairs and finance committee. Newman-Bale worked as a database programmer for EA Sports. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and is completing his MBA from Walsh College. He replaces Chris MacInnes.
Newman-Bale will serve an eight-year term expiring April 5, 2022. His appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
