Snyder makes appointment to Board of Counseling

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Katie Bozek, of Grand Rapids, to the Michigan Board of Counseling.
The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with the licensing and oversight of more than 9,000 counselors in Michigan.
“I am confident that Katie will help this board provide the proper oversight to the practice of counseling in Michigan," Snyder said.
Bozek is owner of Transitions Therapy PLLC and program director for Families in Transition. Bozek earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hope College, a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in family and child ecology from Michigan State University. She represents statutorily regulated health professions and replaces Steven Hampton
Bozek will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2018. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
