Snyder makes appointment to Michigan Travel Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Chris MacInnes, of Beulah, to the Michigan Travel Commission.
The commission collaborates with destination marketing associations, non-profit corporations and organizations to develop, support and enhance Michigan’s travel and tourism industry. It also provides the Michigan Economic Development Corporation with input and advice regarding activities related to tourism in the state.
“Chris has a strong background in the tourism industry and I look forward to her contributions to the commission," said Snyder.
MacInnes is COO of Crystal Enterprises Inc. and president of the development company, Crystal Properties Inc. MacInnes served as a director of Munson Healthcare, Priority Health, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. Executive Committee, Michigan Travel Commission and Michigan Land Use Leadership Council. She was also chairperson of the Michigan State Chamber, Traverse City Area Chamber and Benzie County Economic Development Co. MacInnes is an Athena Award winner, a recipient of the Traverse City Area Chamber’s Distinguished Service Award and was most recently named Hotelier of the Year by the Michigan Lodging and Tourism Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree in German from St. Lawrence University and replaces Susan Sherer.
MacInnes will serve a four-year term expiring Aug. 20, 2018. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
