Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to Board of Barber Examiners
February 19, 2015
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Micaela Reardon, of Grosse Pointe Woods, to the Board of Barber Examiners.
The nine-member board is housed in the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and regulates the services of barbers, barber students, barber colleges, barber instructors, student instructors, and barber shops in Michigan.
"I thank Micaela for her willingness to serve on the board and I am confident she will do good work," Snyder said.
Reardon is coordinator of guest impressions for Continental Catering and Events and served as cruise director for Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charter. She is the assistant coach to the Michigan Ice Hawks girls hockey team. Reardon attends Central Michigan University and is working to complete her bachelor’s in business administration. She represents the general public and replaces James VanDyken.
Reardon will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2016. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
