Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals
March 11, 2015
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of David Zurvalec, of Brighton, to the Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals.
The seven-member board reviews all contested Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) cases, including safety and health citations, orders and appeals.
"David has brought strong insight to the board. I am confident he will continue working to ensure fairness and accountability in the compliance and appeal process,” Snyder said.
Zurvalec, now retired, was vice president of industrial relations for the Michigan Manufacturers Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University and a degree from Cooley Law School. He continues to represent the general public.
Zurvalec will serve a four-year term expiring March 18, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
