Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to Residential Builders' and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors' Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Greg Powell, of St. Joseph, to the Residential Builders' and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors' Board.
Created in 1980, the nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with oversight of the construction, alteration or improvement of residential structures.
“Greg brings valuable experiences to this board and I am confident he will continue to effectively serve the people of Michigan in this role," said Snyder.
Powell is a partner and manager of Powell Construction Services LLC. He serves on the City of St. Joseph Property Maintenance and Construction Appeals Board, the advisory board for Southwest Michigan College Construction Trades and Green Technology, and on the board of directors for Cornerstone Alliance. Powell earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial education from Western Michigan University and continues to represent licensed residential builders.
Powell will serve a four-year term expiring March 31, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
