April 14, 2015
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Kelly Mitchell, of Grand Rapids, to the Board of Barber Examiners.
The nine-member board is housed in the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and assists the department with oversight for the services of barbers, barber students, barber colleges, barber instructors, student instructors, and barbershops in Michigan.
"I am confident that Kelly’s business background will make her an asset on this board and I thank her for willingness to serve," Snyder said.
Mitchell has worked with Multi-Automatic Tool & Supply Co. for more than 14 years serving in sales and management positions. Mitchell earned an associate degree from Grand Rapids Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University. She represents the general public and fills the vacancy created by Tawnya Marketti.
Mitchell will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2015. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
