Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to Board of Athletic Trainers

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Patrick Wykes, of Holland, to the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers.

The 11-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with overseeing the licensure and practice of athletic trainers.

“Patrick is a talented appointee and I am thankful for his willingness to serve,” Snyder said.

Wykes is an athletic trainer with I’move where he designs training programs for age group athletes and leads strength and conditioning programs. He is an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University and served as an athletic trainer at Crittenton Hospital and a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Central Michigan University.  Wykes earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and sports medicine and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Central Michigan University. He continues to represent athletic trainers. 

Wykes serves a four-year term expiring June 30, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
