July 09, 2015
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Marcie Brogan, of Birmingham, to the Mackinac Island State Park Commission.
Formed in 1895, this commission oversees operations and maintenance of Mackinac State Historic Parks, which include Fort Mackinac, historic downtown Mackinac Island, Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, Mackinac Island State Park, Colonial Michilimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, and the Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park.
"Marcie’s background and skillset will be a tremendous asset to this commission as it helps maintain the wonderful Michigan landmarks that bring more than a million residents and visitors to the island each year," Snyder said.
Brogan is owner, founder and chair of Brogan & Partners and co-founder and CFO of Ignite Social Media. She currently sits as a board member for The Parade Company, the Detroit Economic Club, the Tyree Guyton Foundation, and the Detroit Chamber PAC. Brogan earned a bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy at Ursuline College for Women and a master’s degree from the University of Detroit. She represents independents and replaces Karen Karam.
Brogan serves a six-year term expiring April 12, 2021. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
