Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to Veterans Trust Fund Board of Trustees
July 09, 2015
LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Ed Fore, of Dearborn, to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund board of trustees.
The seven-member board oversees trust fund expenditures and awards grants to eligible combat-era veterans and their families to relieve temporary financial emergencies or hardships. In fiscal year 2014, grants from the trust fund helped stabilize more than 2,000 veterans.
“Ed’s long and distinguished military career will make him an asset to the board,” Snyder said.
Fore is an inspector with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Services, and has more than 30 years of military experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and studied at Marine Corps University. He represents the Marine Corps League and replaces Jason Biber, who resigned.
Fore serves the remainder of a three-year term expiring Feb. 25, 2017. His appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
