LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of David Washburn, of East Lansing, to the Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s executive committee.
The 20-member committee is charged with overall management and guidance of MEDC development projects and policy initiatives.
“David is a talented professional and I look forward to the contributions he will make supporting Michigan’s continued comeback, where the MEDC plays an integral role,” Snyder said.
Washburn is executive director of the Michigan State University Foundation and previously served as president and CEO of the University of Tennessee Research Foundation. He earned the Certified Licensing Professional designation from the Licensing Executives Society and a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He represents public agencies and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Stephen Forrest.
