LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Shannon White, of Fenton, to the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

The 15-member council, housed in the Michigan Economic Development Corp., helps create an environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity to support our state’s economic vitality and quality of life for all Michiganders.

“I am confident Shannon will do great work to continue supporting our state’s diverse and vibrant cultural activities,” Snyder said.

White is the founding principal of FUNchitecture, which she launched in 2009. She has more than 15 years of experience working on educational, municipal, religious, corporate, residential, and retail projects. White earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan. She fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Kim Dabbs.
