LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jill Marlan, of DeWitt, to the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy.
The 11-member board advises and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with overseeing the practice of physical therapists.
“I thank Jill for her willingness to serve and offer important input on the practice of physical therapy in Michigan,” Snyder said.
Marlan is the owner of Peak Performance Physical Therapy, where she runs the daily operations, directs athletic injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and operates the clinical residency programs for Oakland University and Michigan State University. Marlan earned a bachelor’s degree in allied health sciences and a master’s degree in physical therapy, both from Wayne State University. She represents professionals and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Vijay Kumar.
Marlan will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2016. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
