Gov. Rick Snyder appoints Wayne County assistant prosecutor Larry Williams to 36th District Court

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Larry Williams, of Detroit, to the 36th District Court, City of Detroit.
“Larry is a lifelong Detroit resident who is known throughout the Detroit legal community as a hard-working and fair attorney,” Snyder said.
Williams has been an assistant prosecuting attorney in Wayne County since he began his legal career in 2000. He currently serves in the special victims unit and previously served in the warrants, district courts and juvenile divisions. He is involved in the tutoring program at the Detroit Public Library for K-12 students and has worked with the Wayne County Juvenile Drug Court as an attorney and mentor. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Wayne State University. He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Miriam B. Martin-Clark.
Williams must seek election in Nov. 2016 for a full term.
