Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Charles Secchia, of Grand Rapids, to the Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority.  

The Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention Arena Authority was established by the city of Grand Rapids and Kent County under the Convention Facility Authority Act of Public Act 203 of 1999. This seven-member board oversees Van Andel Arena, DeVos Place and DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids.

"Charles will continue to bring innovative and extensive experience in business and international relations to this group," Snyder said. "He is a pillar within the community and will continue to do great work to help oversee and promote Grand Rapids."

Secchia is owner/partner in Attico Ventures, LLC, & Sibsco, LLC, a commercial real estate investment and asset management firm in Grand Rapids. Previously, he worked as a manufacturer’s representative for Secchia, Ltd., representing automobile component manufacturers; Lear Corporation, where he was a business development manager; iFusion, INC., where he worked in the international sales department of an internet streaming video company; and with Luigi Serra, S.p.A. in the sales department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from John Cabot University in Rome, Italy, and studied Egyptology/Archeology at the University of Chicago in Luxor, Egypt.

Secchia will serve a four-year term expiring Feb. 29, 2020. His appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
