Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment and reappointment to the State 9-1-1 Committee

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Walter (John) Bawol, of Saint Helen, and the reappointment of Yvette Collins, of Lansing, to the State 9-1-1 Committee.

The 21-member committee, housed within the Michigan State Police, promotes the successful development, implementation and operation of 9-1-1 systems throughout Michigan.

“Timely emergency response is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of all Michiganders,” Snyder said. “I thank both John and Yvette for their service on this important committee.”

Appointment:
Bawol is a project manager for Goodman Networks, Inc. and previously served as a certified training instructor for Success Communications, Inc. He serves as president of the St. Helen Lake Association and is on the board of directors for the St. Helen Blue Gill Festival. He represents the general public and replaces Donald Welch.

Reappointment:
Collins is a Michigan legislative affairs area director for AT&T. She previously worked as an advertising services marketing assistant manager for Ameritech. Collins holds a bachelor’s of applied science in management from Davenport University. She will represent the commercial mobile radio service.

Members will serve two-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2017. Their appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
