LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Lee Anne Fontaine, of Kalamazoo, to the Self-Insurers' Security, Second Injury Fund, Silicosis, Dust Disease, and Logging Industry Compensation Fund Board of Trustees.
The board oversees the funds administration, which is supported by insurers who write workers' compensation policies and employers who self-insure their workers' compensation liability. Their assessments cover all benefits paid by the funds administration and all administrative and litigation costs.
“Lee Anne is highly qualified and I am confident she will be an asset to this board," Snyder said.
Fontaine is managing assistant general counsel for Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Illinois. She represents the insurance industry and fills the vacancy created by Michael Reid.
Fontaine will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring April 30, 2018. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
