Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the State Council for Interstate Juvenile Supervision

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Cheri Arwood, of St. Johns, and Dale Murray, of St. Johns to the State Council for Interstate Juvenile Supervision.

Created by Executive Order 2013-5, the four-member council oversees the state’s involvement in the Interstate Commission for Juveniles. The council is responsible for enhancing accountability, enforcement, visibility and communication regarding the monitoring and return of juveniles who have left their state or residence without permission.

“I thank both Cheri and Dale for their continued service on this council and look forward to their ongoing contributions,” Snyder said.

Arwood is the executive administrator in the legal division of the Executive Office of the Governor. She will continue to represent the Executive Branch.

Murray is a department specialist and has served as an interstate compact consultant for the Department of Health Human Services for over 27 years. He has extensive knowledge of compact rules, policies, agencies, and assisted the Association of Interstate Compact Administrators with the national redrafting of a new Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children. Murray earned his associate’s degree from Lansing Community College. He will continue to serve as the Compact Administrator.

Members serve four-year terms expiring Feb. 12, 2020. Their appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
