Lt. Gov. Brian Calley makes appointment to the Mental Health Diversion Council

LANSING, Mich. – Lt. Gov. Brian Calley today announced the appointment of Lia Gulick of Wheeler to the Mental Health Diversion Council.
The council is housed within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and helps strengthen the state's mental health system. It offers solutions to improve services for Michiganders living with mental health conditions to help ensure better quality of life, safety, and independence.
"I thank Lia for her willingness to serve on this council as we continue our work to offer improved mental health services," Calley said.
Gulick is the health services administrator for the Department of Corrections. Previously she served as an administrator of the procurement, monitoring and compliance division as well as the finance division. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. She will be the designee of the Department of Corrections and replaces Joanne Sheldon.
Gulick will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Jan. 30, 2019. Her appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
