Lt. Gov. Brian Calley makes reappointment to the Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Lt. Gov. Brian Calley today announced the reappointment of Sheriff Matt Saxton of Battle Creek to the Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission.
Housed within Michigan State Police, Office of Highway Safety Planning, the 11-person commission identifies traffic safety challenges and develops, promotes and implements strategies to support traffic safety programs.
“Sheriff Saxton is an experienced law enforcement professional and I am confident he will continue to do great work on this commission,” Calley said.
Saxton is the Calhoun County Sheriff. He has previously served in the roles of Corrections Deputy, Law Enforcement Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Saxton holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Lake Superior State University. He will continue to represent local government.
Saxton will serve a three-year term expiring May 27, 2019.
