Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Aeronautics Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Rick Fiddler of Ada and Roger Salo of Plymouth to the Michigan Aeronautics Commission.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Transportation, the nine-member board governs all airports, flight schools, and other aeronautical activities within the state.
"Rick and Roger have served Michigan’s flight community well on the commission, and I thank them for their continued commitment," Snyder said.
Fiddler is vice president of aviation for Amway Corp. He is a member of the Gulfstream Customer Advisory Board, Sikorsky/United Technologies Customer Advisory Board and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Task Force Committee. Fiddler is a certified flight instructor and holds an Airline Transport Pilots License. He earned his bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Ferris State University.
Salo recently retired as director of aviation for Masco Corp. He is a founding member and current chair of the Michigan Business Aviation Association and serves on the National Business Aviation Association's Safety Committee. Salo is a certified flight instructor. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Hillsdale College and studied aviation management at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring May 27, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
