LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Manvel Trice, III, to the 70-2 District Court in Saginaw County.
“Throughout his career, Manvel has demonstrated a commitment to public service and to the entire Saginaw area community,” Snyder said. “I am confident his knowledge and experience will serve county residents well.”
Trice currently serves as an assistant U.S. attorney, where he prosecutes individuals for the Eastern District of Michigan for violations of federal law. He previously served in the Major Crime Unit of the Saginaw County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he co-founded the Saginaw Witness Assistance Program and coordinated fiduciary obligations with the Crime Stoppers of Michigan. Trice earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Saginaw Valley State University and a law degree from Michigan State University-Detroit College of Law.
Trice fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge M.T. Thompson. He must seek election in November 2018 to be retained for the remaining two years of the term.
