Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Board of Dentistry

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Cheryl Bentley of Grand Rapids to the Michigan Board of Dentistry.
Housed in the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 19-member board assists in overseeing and regulating the practice of dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.
"I am confident Cheryl will do substantial work to ensure improved quality of oral health services for all Michiganders,” Snyder said.
Bentley works as dental hygienist at 44 West Dental Professionals. She is a member of the Grand Rapids Dental Hygienists’ Society, the Michigan Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. Bentley holds an associate’s degree and certificates in dental hygiene from Grand Rapids Community College. She will represent dental hygienists and replace Lisa Darrow.
Bentley will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
