Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointment to the Electrical Administrative Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Edward (Scott) Weaver of Sunfield and the reappointment of Alan Kuipers of Portage to the Electrical Administrative Board.
Housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the board is responsible for licensing and certifying qualified applicants and developing rules and regulations necessary for enforcing safe electrical practices.
"Edward and Alan have many years in electrical work and I thank them for their commitment to serve," Snyder said.
Appointment:
Weaver is an electrical inspector for the city of East Lansing and Grand Ledge. He also serves as vice president for the Michigan chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. He will replace David Williams and represent chief electrical inspectors of a municipality.
Reappointment:
Kuipers is a senior engineer lead for Consumers Energy. Kuipers holds an associate’s degree in electrical technology from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Western Michigan University. He will continue to represent electrical energy supply agencies operating in Michigan.
Members serve four-year terms expiring Aug. 10, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
