Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Health Information Technology Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Rodney Davenport of Farmington Hills, Rozelle Hegeman-Dingle of Rochester Hills and Karen Parker of Webberville to the Michigan Health Information Technology Commission.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the 13-member commission facilitates and promotes the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of Michigan's health care information systems.

"Advances in health technology offer critical opportunities to connect individuals, government and the private sector," Snyder said. "I am confident the background and expertise of these individuals will continue to be tremendous assets to the commission."

Davenport is the chief technology officer for the state of Michigan and previously worked for DTE Energy as the research and strategy specialist of emerging technologies. Davenport holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Lawrence Technological University. He will continue to serve as the designee of the director of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. 

Hegeman-Dingle is a medical outcomes specialist for Pfizer, Inc. She was previously a transplant pharmacotherapy specialist for the Henry Ford Hospital-Transplant Institute. She currenly serves on Pfizer’s Health Information Technology Trends and Channels Committee. Hegeman-Dingle holds a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Michigan. She will continue to represent pharmaceuticals manufacturers.

Parker is a senior deputy director of MDHHS and has held various positions in the department for over 25 years. Parker holds a bachelor’s of business administration from Baker College. She will continue to serve as the designee of the Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).

Members serve four-year terms expiring Aug. 3, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
