Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Beef Industry Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jerry Suter of Ada to the Michigan Beef Industry Commission.
The nine-member commission promotes the sale of beef and beef products in the state.
“Jerry is a qualified and experienced individual, and I thank him for his willingness to serve,” Snyder said.
Suter is the vice president of meat, packaged meat, and seafood merchandising for Meijer. Previously he was employed by Kroger working in manufacturing, logistics, buying, merchandising, and operations. He also worked for Sam’s Club in the buying, merchandising, and operations organizations. Suter received a food leadership certificate from Cornell University. He will represent beef retailers and replace Harold Neiman.
Suter will serve a three-year term expiring May 31, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
