Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments, reappointments to the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Dan Lemieux of Plymouth, Andriy Pereklita of Ann Arbor, Niki Adams of Mason as well as the reappointments of Joe Voss of Kalamazoo and Richard Hert of Ada to the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council.

Housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the 14-member Council advises the Michigan Film Office, governor and Legislature on how to promote and market aspects of the state's film industry.

"I thank this group of individuals for their commitment to the film industry and Michigan’s economic development," Snyder said.

Appointments:

Lemieux is owner and president of Superior Stunts, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a master of fine arts from DePaul University. He will be representing film, television or related industry unions and replace Marcia Fishman.

Pereklita is prop master for Central Productions-Detroit. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Toronto. He will represent film, television, or related industry unions and replace Calvin Hazelbaker.

Adams is a new media instructor at the Ingham Intermediate School District – Capital Area Career Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University and a master’s degree from Wayne State University. She will represent broad areas of film and motion picture making, production of television programs and commercials, and related industries in Michigan and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Ted Serbinski.

Reappointments:

Hert is a commissioner for the West Michigan Film Office and previously served as the executive director of the West Michigan Tourist Association. He also has served as executive director of the North Olympic Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau in the state of Washington, Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce, both in Oregon. Hert holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Central Washington University and a master's degree in business administration from Baker College. He will continue to represent Local Film Offices.

Voss is director of strategic partnerships at Creative Many Michigan and is senior counsel for Clark Hill PLC, serving as the practice leader of the firm's Entertainment Industry Team. Voss holds a bachelor's degree in history and religion from City University of New York - Brooklyn College and a degree from the DePaul University College of Law. He will continue to represent broad areas of film and motion picture making, production of television programs and commercials, and related industries in Michigan.

Adams will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Sept. 20, 2018, and the other members will serve four-year terms expiring Sept. 20, 2020.
