Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Board of Acupuncture

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Anne Biris of Ann Arbor to the Board of Acupuncture.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 13-member board oversees the licensure and practice of acupuncture.
“Anne has an extensive background in this field and I am confident she will positively impact the acupuncture profession in Michigan,” Snyder said.
Biris is the owner of Eastern Integrative Services, LLC. She serves as president of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, president of the Humanitarian Acupuncture Project, and founder of the Shen Ming Seminars, LLC. She holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. She will represent acupuncturists and replace Roseann Emanuele.
Biris will serve a four-year term expiring June 30, 2020. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
