Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the State Fire Safety Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Julie Bulson of Grand Rapids to the State Fire Safety Board.
In cooperation with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Bureau of Fire Services and fire organizations throughout the state, the 17-member board assists with the development of fire safety rules for the construction, operation, and maintenance of various public facilities.
"I am confident Julie will work to ensure Michigan is a safer place, and I thank her for her willingness to serve on this board.” Snyder said.
Bulson works at Spectrum Health as director of emergency preparedness. She holds a diploma from Blodgett School of Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Grand Valley State University. She will represent hospital administrations and replace Usamah Mossallam.
Bulson will serve a four-year term expiring July 15, 2020. The appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
