LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jonathan Vono of Shelby Township to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board assists in overseeing the licensure requirements and standards for Michigan's respiratory therapists.

"I thank Jonathan for his service and I am confident he will have a positive impact on this board," said Snyder.

Vono is an education and clinical coordinator in respiratory therapy for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. Prior to his time with the Henry Ford Health System, Vono worked as a dispatcher and supervisor for the patient transport department and was a respiratory therapy technician for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township. He will represent respiratory therapists and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Debra Dix.

Vono will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2017. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
