Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the State Police Retirement Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Steve O’Neill of Owosso to the State Police Retirement Board.
The nine-member board oversees the Michigan State Police Retirement System.
"Steve has many years of experience with the Michigan State Police and I think he will be an excellent addition to this board," Snyder said.
O’Neill is an inspector for the Michigan State Police. He previously served as the statewide coordinator of the Michigan State Police’s Secure Cities Partnership, an initiative geared toward crime reduction in major Michigan cities. O’Neill holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Adrian College. He will represent members of the retirement system with the rank of lieutenant or above and replace Kevin McGaffigan.
O’Neill will serve a three-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2019.
