Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Ruth Rondon of Wyoming to the Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board.

Housed within the Department of Health and Human Services, the nine member board collects and analyzes information concerning medical and mental health services available to survivors of human trafficking; identifies state, federal, and local agencies that are involved with issues relating to human trafficking; and coordinates the dissemination of information concerning medical and mental health services available to survivors of human trafficking in Michigan.

“I thank Ruth for her continued commitment to helping survivors of human trafficking. She and the rest of this board ensure survivors in our state receive the necessary resources to recover from their trauma,” Snyder said.

Rondon recently served as a clerk for the Kent County Register of Deeds. She also worked for the Kent County Health Department. She is a coauthor for Human Trafficking Elearning, creating lessons and brochures about real-life scenarios of human trafficking victims. She will continue to represent human trafficking survivors.

Rondon will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2020.
