Gov. Rick Snyder reappoints Jenell Leonard as the Director of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Jenell Leonard of DeWitt as director of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office.

Housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office attracts incoming production companies and promotes the growth of the state's creative industry.

“I thank Jenell for serving in this important role. I am confident she will continue to serve Michigan’s creative industry well,” Snyder said.

Leonard has been the director of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office since 2015. She previously served as director of external and strategic affairs for Lt. Gov. Brian Calley. She also served as legislative staff in the Michigan House of Representatives. Leonard earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Thomas Edison State College, a master’s degree in public administration from Walden University, and is an alumna of the Michigan Political Leadership Program.

Leonard’s appointment expires Dec. 31, 2018.
