Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to Ferris State University Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Robert Hegbloom of Clarkston, Amna Seibold of East Grand Rapids and LaShanda Thomas of Grosse Pointe to the Ferris State University Board of Trustees.

The eight-member board is the governing body of the university.

“I thank these three individuals for serving on this board and am confident they will do substantial work to ensure the success of the university,” Snyder said.

Hegbloom is the head of Ram Brand International for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He recently worked with Ferris State University’s College of Engineering Technology and Business School. Hegbloom holds a bachelor’s degree in automotive management from Ferris State University, a master’s degree in international business from Central Michigan University. He recently received an honorary doctorate of business and industry from Ferris State University. He will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Erin Brown.

Seibold is the Mayor of East Grand Rapids as well as the director of the department of pathology for Mercy Health Saint Mary’s. Seibold holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and English from Albion College and a master’s in health services administration from the University of Michigan. She has completed the Trinity Health Senior Leadership Program and the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University Institute for Public Policy. She will replace Alisha Baker.

Thomas is managing director and founder of The Clairmount Group, PLC. She is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of CPA’s, and the National Association of Certified Public Accountants. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She will replace Arthur Tebo.

Hegbloom will serve the remainder of an eight-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2020. Seibold and Thomas will serve eight-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2024. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
