Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the State Survey and Remonumentation Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Marvin Myers of Roscommon and John Quine of Elsie to the State Survey and Remonumentation Commission.
The seven-member commission will consult with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to create and distribute a model county plan that may be adopted by a county with any changes appropriate for that county.
"Marvin and John have many years of professional experience and I thank them for their continued commitment to this commission," Snyder said.
Myers founded Myers Land Survey Company in 1986, which was later bought by Rowe Professional Services Company where Myers currently works as a professional surveyor. He holds an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology and bachelor’s degrees in land surveying and surveying engineering from Ferris State University. He will continue to represent surveyors from the Northern Lower Peninsula.
Quine is a professional surveyor in private practice. He is currently the mid-Michigan chapter representative for the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors 2016 Board of Directors. He will continue to represent surveyors from the Lower Peninsula.
Members serve four-year terms expiring Oct. 20, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
